Event: New intermediate course on on Buddhism in September 2010
Cincinnati: Fridays at 7pm
Bloomington: Sundays at 10am
Buddhist
philosophy is over 2,500 years old and incorporates ceremonies and practices
that might be new to many people. Reading books and going to lectures can be
helpful, but taking a more in-depth look with a qualified guide is the
traditional way to learn about Buddhism.
This
Intermediate Course on Buddhism is for all people, but some knowledge of
Buddhism will be helpful, whether from a college philosophy class or from
self-guided study. In addition to going into detail about the better-known
concepts – the Four Noble Truths, compassion, re-birth – we will focus into
some of the more complex topics of bodhichitta, interdependence and the nature
of mind.

Project: Adopt a monk
For just $20 a month (much less than
$1 a day), you can sponsor or ensure that a young monk will continue his studies at the
monastery and make a better life for himself and others. In exchange, you will know the satisfaction
of extending a helping hand to someone whose quality of life depends on
it. You will also secure an opportunity
to develop a relationship with a child who will treasure your support and whose
presence in your own life will be deeply enriching. Won’t you consider adopting a
young monk and providing the conditions for a life to change forever?
When they are, you will be able to choose a monk whose personal story
touches you in some way, and pledge your support. Until then, please contact "Adopt a
Monk Project": dgtl@ganden.org or
Call: (812) 339-0857.
